Outdoor Concrete Coating

What Is Patio & Deck Resurfacing?

Patio and deck resurfacing is the process of applying a professional-grade coating to existing outdoor concrete surfaces to restore their appearance and protect them from wear, UV damage, staining, and weathering. Instead of tearing out and replacing deteriorated concrete — an expensive, disruptive process — resurfacing creates a fresh, durable surface over what's already there.

At TRM Garage Floors, we use 100% polyaspartic coating systems for all outdoor resurfacing. Polyaspartic is UV stable, which means colors won't yellow or fade under Arizona's intense sun exposure — a significant advantage over epoxy-based products that degrade visibly outdoors within a year or two.

Surfaces We Resurface

  • Backyard and front patio slabs
  • Pool decks and surrounding areas
  • Covered outdoor living spaces and ramadas
  • Walkways and pathways
  • Carports and covered driveways
  • Commercial outdoor areas and common spaces

Why Resurface Instead of Replace?

Concrete replacement is expensive, messy, and takes days or weeks. Resurfacing delivers a result that looks like new in a single day at a fraction of the cost. As long as the underlying concrete is structurally sound, resurfacing is the smarter, more practical choice for most East Valley homeowners.

Built for Arizona Outdoor Conditions

Phoenix area concrete faces some of the most punishing outdoor conditions in the country. UV exposure that yellows epoxy within a year. Surface temperatures that crack inferior coatings. Thermal cycling that lifts coatings not designed for the swings. Polyaspartic handles all of it — engineered for wide temperature tolerances, UV stability, and the physical demands of outdoor use in extreme climates.

Every outdoor surface we coat receives an anti-slip aggregate broadcast into the topcoat as standard — not an optional add-on. Slip resistance is especially important for pool decks and any surface that sees irrigation or rain.

What We Fix

Problems We Solve

🌞
Faded & Sun-Damaged Concrete

Arizona sun bleaches and degrades bare concrete surfaces over time. A polyaspartic coating restores the look and permanently protects the surface.

💧
Slippery Wet Surfaces

Smooth concrete becomes dangerously slick when wet. We apply slip-resistant finishes to all outdoor surfaces as standard practice.

🔴
Cracked & Pitted Concrete

Minor cracks and pitting are filled and repaired as part of the prep process before the coating is applied.

🧹
Hard-to-Clean Stained Surfaces

Sealed polyaspartic surfaces resist staining and clean easily. A hose handles most outdoor cleanup.

🏚️
Worn-Looking Outdoor Spaces

A resurfaced patio or deck transforms the look of the entire outdoor area — without the cost and disruption of a concrete replacement.

🌡️
Heat & UV Degradation

Polyaspartic is engineered for high-temperature environments and UV exposure — exactly what East Valley patios and decks face every summer.

Why Polyaspartic Outdoors

Built for Arizona Outdoor Use

☀️
UV Stable

Does not yellow or fade under direct Arizona sun. Colors hold for years outdoors — epoxy cannot claim the same.

🌡️
Heat Resistant

Handles the extreme surface temperatures outdoor concrete reaches in Phoenix area summers without lifting or bubbling.

💧
Slip-Resistant

Anti-slip aggregate is broadcast into every outdoor topcoat as standard. Safe underfoot even when wet.

🎨
Finish Options

Available in chip blends, solid colors, and custom combinations. Match your home's exterior or complement a pool environment.

One-Day Install

Done in a single day. Walk on it that evening. No multi-day project that takes over your backyard for a week.

🧹
Low Maintenance

Sealed surfaces don't absorb dirt or stains. Hose off or mop. No sealing, no waxing, no annual treatments required.

Common Questions

Patio & Deck Resurfacing FAQ

Can you resurface a cracked or stained patio?+
In most cases, yes. Surface prep removes most staining. Minor cracks are filled as part of the preparation process. Significant structural cracks or damage are evaluated during the free estimate and discussed before any commitment.
Is polyaspartic coating slippery when wet on a patio or pool deck?+
Not when installed correctly for outdoor use. Every outdoor surface we coat receives an anti-slip aggregate broadcast into the topcoat as standard — not an optional add-on. This provides texture and grip even when the surface is wet.
How long does patio resurfacing take?+
One day. We arrive, prep the surface, apply the coating system, and complete the job the same day. Walk on it that evening. Allow 24 hours before placing furniture or heavy items back on the surface.
Will the coating yellow in Arizona sun?+
No. Polyaspartic is UV stable, meaning it does not yellow or degrade under direct sun exposure. This is one of the main reasons we use polyaspartic over epoxy for outdoor applications — epoxy yellows visibly within a year or two of UV exposure.
Do you coat commercial outdoor surfaces?+
Yes. We coat commercial walkways, outdoor common areas, carports, and other commercial outdoor concrete. Contact us for a commercial estimate.
